+ OVERVIEW This service-learning design project was completed for the Bloomington Entertainment and Arts District (BEAD). Based on cultural probe data and interviews, our team presented concept systems and strategies for improving the downtown Bloomington experience. + CULTURAL PROBES Cultural probe packets were distributed to eight participants. The packets were designed to encourage creative and inspiring responses from participants with respect to downtown experience. Packets included various map and photo activities prompting participants to reflect on and represent their emotional, social, and behavioral states at various downtown places and moments.
+ OPPORTUNITY AREAS Opportunity areas were identified based on our interpretations of the returned probe materials, as well as from interviews with Bloomington residents.
+ CONCEPT SYSTEMS A set of design concepts were presented spanning the identified opportunity areas.
